11 Pounds

Caitlyn had her 4 month check-up today (although she doesn't turn 4 months til December 9). She received another set of immunizations and did so well. She received her first set at her last appointment and listening to her cry really tore at my heart, so this time I brought reinforcement... Her daddy! She screamed like I had never heard her scream before. It brought tears to my eyes and this time one actually went down my cheek. Thank God that Ashley was there!

She weighed in at a whopping 11 pounds and is 24 3/4 inches long. She was in the 90th percentile for her length and the 15th percentile for her weight. The doctor said that she is already taking after her mommy and daddy, tall and slender. She finally went down for the night at about 7:45pm. Lately she's been sleeping anywhere from 7-11 hours in the night. It's amazing... I feel rested. So, for those of you out there with younger babies... There is light at the end of the tunnel.
This is a picture of Caitlyn after her appointment. We visited Babcia for tea and pumpkin pie.

Thanksgiving Day

What a wonderful day. My mom, (my parents' dog), sister, mother-in-law, Cailtyn, and I started Caitlyn’s first Thanksgiving by participating in the annual Brown’s Point 5k Turkey Trot while Ashley and my brother played in the traditional Brown’s Point vs. Tacoma Mud Bowl.

It was dad’s year to work and Ksavera decided to work out on her own before we all headed over to my Aunt Cindy’s house for a delicious turkey feast. Below is our first

Thanksgiving family photo!!!

After dinner we all lounged around and watched football.
Ash and I then headed to his parents house for another turkey feast. After that meal we started a movie with ash's family and aunt, uncle, and cousin, but the tryptophan had gotten the best of me and slept through the whole thing. When the movie was over Ashley, Caitlyn, & I headed home where we crawled in bed and took time to recognize that we are extremely blessed and have so much to be thankful for. Caitlyn was especially thankful for her mommy and daddy.
(at least that's what her onsie read)
Among many things, we are thankful for our healthy & happy baby girl, our family, friends, our home, our jobs, and a life filled with love and happiness. Happy Thanksgiving!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho...

A Pirate's Life for Me! Caitlyn was a little pirate for her first Halloweeny! Ash picked out and bought the costume early in October. Ashley and I took Caitlyn to my parent's and his parent's house on October 30th for 'trick-or-treating'. We went out a night early in order to be home to pass out candy for the ONE trick-or-treater that came to our house. She was so precious. I can't wait for next year when she can walk in her costume.

Second Post: Smiles

Caitlyn is full of smiles now! I love waking up to her in the morning. As soon as she wakes up and realizes that I am right next to her she puts on the biggest teethless smile. It warms my heart everytime! I love that she is smiling and beginning to giggle. This weekend, I am going to try to post some of her Halloween pictures... so stay tuned!

First Post

This is me ready to blog about my new life as a mother!!! I wanted to start blogging in order to keep in touch with friends, but mostly because my friend Tiffany does such a good job writing about her life. I love reading about her and her 'blossoming family' as she puts it. Her daughter Avery Jeanne will really enjoy reading it someday. Hopefully my family and friends enjoy reading about me and my life as much as I have enjoyed reading about Tiffany!
